This page covers two things: our websites, and ISDIY Social, the tool we use to post to our own social media accounts.
Our websites
This covers isdiy.studio and every site under it (for example phil.isdiy.studio and release.isdiy.studio).
What we count
We use Umami to count visits. It runs on a computer we own, not a third-party service, and we share its numbers with no one.
For each visit it records:
- which page you looked at
- the site that sent you here, if your browser says
- your rough location (country, and sometimes region and city), worked out from your connection, which is then discarded
- your browser, operating system, device type and screen size
- how long the visit lasted
What we don't do
- No cookies.
- We don't store your IP address.
- No profile of you. To tell a return visit from a new one, visits from the same browser and connection within a calendar month share a scrambled code. The code changes every month and can't be turned back into your address.
- No advertising or tracking companies, and nothing sold.
- If your browser sends Do Not Track, we don't count you at all.
Who else is involved
Cloudflare hosts these sites and carries all traffic to them. Like any web host, it handles your connection to deliver the page. On most of these sites, a small Cloudflare script is what loads our visit counter; it sets no cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The contact form
If you send us a message through the form on isdiy.studio, we get what you typed into it. Brevo, our email service, delivers it to our inbox, and a copy is posted to the studio's private Slack workspace. We use it only to reply to you.
ISDIY Social
ISDIY Social is our internal publishing tool. It is self-hosted open-source software (Postiz) running on a computer the studio owns.
Only ISDIY Studio staff use it, and only for the studio's own accounts and its founder's accounts. It is not offered to the public or to clients. You can't sign up for it.
Platforms it connects to
- YouTube (Google)
- Instagram, Threads and Facebook (Meta)
- TikTok
- X
- Bluesky
What it accesses on YouTube
With permission from the Google account that owns the channel, ISDIY Social accesses:
- basic profile: name, email address and profile picture
- the YouTube channel's details
- video uploads and edits
- YouTube Analytics reports for our own channels
It uses this only to publish and schedule our videos and to show us our own channel statistics.
What it accesses on the other platforms
The equivalent of the above:
- profile or page details
- the ability to publish posts
- post and page statistics
It uses this only to publish and schedule our posts and to show us how our own posts and pages are doing.
Where the data is kept
Access tokens and post data are stored only on that studio-owned computer.
Who we share it with
No one. Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising. No data is transferred to third parties except the platform a post is being published to.
Google API data
ISDIY Social's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep it
Only while an account stays connected. Disconnecting an account in ISDIY Social deletes its tokens.
How to revoke access
- Google and YouTube: myaccount.google.com/permissions
- LinkedIn, Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads), TikTok, X and Bluesky: remove ISDIY Social in that platform's own connected apps settings.
How to ask us to delete your data
Email hello@isdiy.studio and tell us which account it's about. We delete everything we hold for that account within 30 days.
